Alexis Sanchez’s agent fuels speculation linking Arsenal forward to Man United with latest social media activity

The Chilean is at the centre of a transfer tug of war with both Manchester clubs interested in signing him

Alexis Sanchez’s agent has fueled the flames of speculation linking his client to Manchester United this January transfer window.

The Arsenal forward is at the centre of a transfer tug of war with both Manchester clubs interested in signing him.

Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City appeared to have the upper-hand early into the transfer race, but they’re not prepared to stump up the £35million being quote for the forward.

Sanchez is also demanding a three-and-a-half-year contract worth £400,000-a-week, and a £15million signing-on fee, which City are unwilling to pay.

Manchester United on the other hand, are happy to part with the cash in the hope of landing the Chilean ahead of their city rivals.

They are also prepared to offer Arsenal a player-plus-cash transfer that would see £27million playmaker Henrikh Mkhitaryan move the opposite way.

At this point it isn’t clear who Sanchez will sign for, or whether he’ll remain at Arsenal until the end of the season and leave on a free.

But fans monitoring the Chilean’s social media activity, and that of his agent, Fernando Felicevich, noticed something of interest this week.

It seems Felicevich has just started following Manchester United’s Twitter account, which some fans are interpreting as being good news for the Red Devils.

Arsene Wenger spoke to the press on Friday, admitting for the first time he would be prepared to let the wantaway wonder leave the Emirates this month.

He did however insist that Arsenal would need to sign an adequate replacement first, to ensure they were not weakened by his exit.

“Do we find exactly the same player? Certainly not,” said the Arsenal boss. “But there are always ways to find the balance.

“He is an exceptional player and if that happens [he leaves], we must find a different balance in the team. I cannot tell you what I don’t know. I like to be a bit vague and use my experience to not talk about things I cannot back up.”
